Cooking with the kids.

Some of you that know me know that I am not the same person I was before I got married.

When Erick and I were newly weds, I couldn't cook. My parents are both excellent cooks, but I didn't really care about that much.

Erick mom is a fabulous cook and so is he, so he taught me how to make his favorite dishes. I was determined to be a cook for my family. I would cook every meal and through lots of trial and error I must say I have become really good at it.

Anyway, some of my sweetest memories are cooking with Kiah. I am not a patient person so I used to like to get things done quickly. Kiah wanted to be a part of everthing I was doing. I remember sneeking into the Kitchen to start cooking and a few minutes later I would hear the dining room chair scooting across the floor and there was Kiah saying I want to help. She would help me this way everynight and I soon gained more patience as we would cook dinner together. I have a picture of her flipping pancakes at age 2. I have tried to carry this tradition on with each of my kids. We make cookies on sunday night and we trade off night for cooking dinner. Friday night are the twins night to help me make homemade bread and pizza. I hope all of my kids love to cook.

I love it!!! First off the aprons are adorable, next I totally agree that sometimes I sneek into the kitchen also to get a headstart before the kids come and want to dump everything in and mix it all...And last you are an amazing cook!!!! Way to go!!

Hunter is and was just like Kiah. He LOVES to help me cook. But i, like you try to be patient as possible even though I'd rather just do it myself!! :-) But, I like to think I'm training him well and one day his future wife will thank me.
Plus, your kids will always remember you cooking with them and treasure it!!
