Family Reunion over the 4th.

We headed to Lander Wyoming for our Chalmers family reunion. My mom grew up there and wanted the grandkids to see the small town and all it has to offer over the 4th. We arrived thursday night after a 4 1/2 hour drive.Friday morning we woke up first thing and headed to Martins Cove and did a 5 mile handcart trek. My mom made pioneer dresses for all the girls. It was really fun. All the kids were troopers, they got to ride in the hadcart about 1/2 of the way and they had to walk the other 1/2. There was very little complaining and alot of fun. Friday night we relaxed for a while before we went to the most amazing firework show I have ever seen. A dentist from Lander invites the whole community to his property where the fireworks are right in front of you. It was amazing I can't put it into words. My kids loved it. Saturday the 4th we went to a parade. Probley the most low budget ever. Just horses and trucks a few marching bands. But everyone was throwing Candy, my kids each had a bag full of treats to take home. And the fire department hoses everyone down at the end. So much fun. We went to a bar-b-que with my moms sisters family and then Erick, Kiah, Isaac and I did a fun hike up sinks canyon. We really had a great time and will probley return another year. The kids can't stop talking about it.

Nobody knows how to celebrate The Fourth like small towns. I am glad you had fun, what a neat experience to go on a trek.
